Summary: Have you ever wished you could find a magic lamp and… poof!… a genie would appear before you offering wishes? Be careful what you wish for!
Celeste feels a special draw to a beautiful quartz crystal she sees in her favorite store. When she brings it home, she finds herself staring into its liquid depths at a small imperfection that makes the stone so mesmerizing. She polishes off a fingerprint marring the surface and a man—all granite hard muscle and starkly sensual good looks—appears before her.
The genie of the crystal. Zurvan.
As soon as Zurvan sees Celeste… a woman! ... rage blazes through him. He does NOT trust women. He was imprisoned, tortured and cursed by Atia, a woman who claims she loves him yet punishes him because he can't love her back.
Zurvan tamps down his anger and offers Celeste her three wishes.
Shelly's Review: I've seen Opal Carew's books in the book store, but I've never read any until now. I knew the author's name and the summary sounded interesting so I decided to give Crystal Genie a try. I've been pleasantly surprised and I wish I would have known what I'd been missing sooner! Crystal Genie is a creative, really fun read.
This story is erotic and explicit throughout the book, but Ms. Carew makes it work in a perfect manner. I wouldn't want it any other way. She's quite a descriptive author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. This is NOT your average genie story. I loved the ending as it's quite funny and surprising at the same time. I highly recommend Crystal Genie by Opal Carew and I will absolutely
be reading more from her!

Have you ever wished you could find a magic lamp and… poof!… a genie would appear before you offering wishes? Be careful what you wish for!
Celeste feels a special draw to a beautiful quartz crystal she sees in her favorite store. When she brings it home, she finds herself staring into its liquid depths at a small imperfection that makes the stone so mesmerizing. She polishes off a fingerprint marring the surface and a man—all granite hard muscle and starkly sensual good looks—appears before her.
The genie of the crystal. Zurvan.
As Celeste goes through the process of making her wishes, she and Zurvan discover some unsettling truths about both their pasts. Now she knows that when he returns to his imprisonment in the crystal—and there is nothing she can do to stop it—she will be left to endure a life of interminable loneliness missing the man she was meant to be with forever.
Celeste has just released Zurvan, the genie of the crystal, from his imprisonment. Zurvan must grant whomever the crystals deem worthy three wishes, yet when he sees it is a woman that has released him he becomes angry. A woman only reminds him of Atia the woman who trapped him in the crystal to begin with. Will Celeste and Zurvan find true love or will he keep up the walls around his heart?
This book pulled me in right from the start. I loved the bond of love and trust that developed between Zurvan and Celeste. Zurvan is a great hero who loves with his whole heart and would give up his life for those he cares about. Celeste is a strong woman who fights for what she loves not caring what will happen to her. The love that these two share is a once in a lifetime thing that many of us crave to find. I loved that Celeste was not a simpering naïve woman but one that fought for her love and made sure she thought before striking. As the book goes on we see the love that they have shine through it all. Even the evil Atia may find peace after all these years.
With a few unexpected twists this book is a good read and should not be missed. Opal Carew writes a magical story about true love, keeping the reader enthralled until the end. If you enjoy a tale full of love and magic this is one you are sure to like.

Celeste never thought when she bought the beautiful crystal that she would be getting three wishes along with some really hot lovin' in the form of a genie. Zurvan the genie is larger than life to Celeste, and he wants her to "help" him out with a little itch he has had for 30 centuries. Celeste can't help but wonder at the deja vu feeling she gets when she looks at Zurvan; she feels like she has been with him before. Zurvan is about to serve up a shock; they have a love that has endured centuries, but can they finally be together?

Crystal Genie is a cute fantasy come to life. This is a feel good story about everlasting love . . . and red-hot sex! This is not your typical fairy tale. Zurvan is all red-hot male. He has many dimensions, and the reader will enjoy them all from his rock hard body to his emotional feelings.
Celeste is an interesting character. She hasn't had luck at love, and her feelings about love are jaded by her parents’ issues. I loved her immediately when I read that she had violet hair with magenta . . . gotta love that colored hair! I found that she had a nice depth beneath the outside veneer. She is caring, loving, and a strong female presence.
There is an underlying complex story of betrayal and eternal love that adds a nice dimension to the overall story. The sexual encounters are erotically enticing and will have the reader panting for more.
This is my first novel by Ms. Carew, and I am happy I took the time to read it. She has a great way with words and imagination. I look forward to reading more by this talented author.

Celeste loves the crystal she bought at the Crystal Dreams. She loves watching the colors as the sun reflects off the imperfection located inside it. But after getting fingerprints all over it, she needs to wipe it down. She’s shocked when a genie appears and even intimidated when he appears to grow 30 feet tall! This genie who calls himself, Zurvan doesn’t seem too thrill to be released from the crystal and soon Celeste finds out why.
Zurvan will only be out for three days. During those three days, Celeste can ask for three wishes. If Zurvan can fulfill them, he will but he can’t do everything and he might question Celeste’s desires.
In the meantime, Zurvan has no problem taking care of Celeste by cooking her meals, getting her clothes and even in bed! This surprises them both as Zurvan isn’t too thrilled with women and Celeste is sure all men are scum. The longer that they are together though, the more they seem to belong together. So what’s going to happen after 3 days?
This is a short quirky story that plays on the genie and three wishes theme. However, it’s also more than that. It’s erotic and romantic as well as mysterious.
The beginning of this story has Celeste dealing with her sister. She reflects on her family life and how it made her distrustful of men. By the end of the story, Zurvan is with his sister and the woman who put him into the crystal. However, even though both families make an appearance, neither really interacts with the couple. Celeste and Zurvan pretty much are the sole characters for most of this book. They are joined by another towards the end of the story.
Much of the story takes place around Celeste and Zurvan’s sexual escapades. These are graphic so if that type of stuff bothers you, don’t read this story!
I enjoyed this fun story and was pleasantly surprised at the ending. In many ways this story stepped out of the norm and looked at things from outside the box making it unique and refreshing.

"A lovely and original retelling of the story of the magic lamp!"
Celeste discovered a genie in the crystal quartz stone that she bought, but not just any genie, but a gorgeous hunk of a man. Zurvan, the genie, was trapped in the stone for 30 centuries by another djinn, a woman, who wanted Zurvan's love and when she couldn't get it, punished him by imprisoning him in the stone and forcing him to grant each master (the one who called him out of the stone) three wishes...
Sound familiar? Crystal Genie has its basis on Aladdin's story, but that's as far as it goes. Opal Carew wrote a highly original short story that would leave you hot and bothered and make you think about what love truly is.
And no, the extremely hot and wonderful sex wasn't part of the wishes. It was freely given by Zurvan who ached for Celeste, having gone without a woman for three thousand years. And in the process, they discovered something wonderful about each other, something that I couldn't say because it would be a spoiler. All I can say is that love makes everything worth it, whatever the outcome, and the end came with a twist that would make you smile, although it did raise up a question in my mind because it was a bit inconsistent with some of the other facts. (You can email me at silverwinters1(@)gmail(.)com if you want to know what it is or to discuss the story in detail, with spoilers. LOL)
