“Story behind the story” Hi folks! Roz Lee here. I’m so very excited about the release of The Lust Boat. I had such a great time writing it. Story ideas come to me at the oddest moments. I write them all down and file them away in my “one day when I need a new idea” pile. The idea for The Lust Boat came to me while I was on cruise with my family. Yep, not the best time to come up with an idea for an erotic romance! We were sitting in the theatre watching one of those cheesy, only-on-a-cruise, musical/dance/acrobatic productions. As always, I had to admire the performers and their incredible ability to remain upright while the ship rolled and pitched.
The stage production made use of elaborate costuming, some of it risqué, probably to keep the attention of the men in the audience, and to draw attention away from the less than Broadway quality talent. I wasn’t complaining. They had plenty of bare-chested men for the women to ogle too. I was not immune to their ploy.
Whatever the theme of the show was, it wasn’t enough to hold my attention, but the costumes were. Some of the women wore flesh tone body suits with flame-like appliqués, strategically placed, if you get my meaning. If you concentrated, the women appeared to be naked except for those patches of red and black sequins. Hubby was mesmerized. Never mind that the theatre was too small, and it was obvious the women weren’t anywhere near naked, it was enough to keep his attention. That’s when it hit me.
What if the entire ship was like that? What if the crew wore elaborate, tantalizing, erotic costumes? By the time the last acrobat slid down a silk rope into the audience below, my mind had sailed on a completely different cruise line.
As soon as we docked I shelved my work in progress and began writing The Lust Boat. I gave my deliciously wicked mind free reign and the result is a vacation on the most erotic ship to ever sail the high seas. I know women will relate to Candace, the somewhat naïve heroine, and every man dreams of the kind of life my hero, Ryan, leads. So leave your luggage behind, and take a vacation on The Lust Boat.
