Trenton Valley is a small town that's about to undergo a big change, when Legend Studios arrives with an offer to pay a great sum to use its oldest landmark as a filming site. Known for their blockbuster hits, The Dark Ancestors, the studios has turned paranormal thrillers into the largest grossing genre in entertainment history. As the Head of the Historical Society, Kallie Lowenstein can't ignore the much needed compensation for her laughable budget, but her only concern is keeping the Manor and its artifacts safe. It doesn't help that the studios' representative, Luke Drake, is a gorgeous, silver-tongued Brit who's relentlessly determined to get more than just a yes for his boss.
While struggling with her intense attraction to Luke and her best friend's insane reaction to him, Kallie fights to be taken seriously in her profession. Especially from the studios' powerful owner, Evelyn Chancellon, a woman who's just as coldly manipulative, as she is classy. Strange phenomena coupled with the presence of Hollywood's elite stirs up more trouble than the townsfolk are ready to face, yet some resolutions were way overdue. When an old matter of growing obsession comes to a head, Kallie finds herself taking an impromptu plunge into the supernatural where she learns that everyone, including her own family, has secrets. Dark, powerful and duplicitous secrets–and Legend Studios might just harbor the greatest one of all.
What if none of their paranormal movies were works of fiction, and not a single star had been acting?
Reader Alert! He should be keeping her safe, instead of making her his, but Kallie Lowenstein calls to him on every level, beckoning his demons to come out and play, and Luke Drake is not a man to be denied. He's a monster with dangerous appetites and the more Kallie offers him to take, the hungrier Luke becomes. Warning! Dancing on the fringes of dark pleasure with a closet sadist may prove too tempting to resist when those fantasies are laced with wicked, paranormal elements.
To My Readers: I can't explain how extraordinary it feels to be writing an introduction to this series. About six years ago, my computer crashed and I lost absolutely everything pertaining to the Dark Descendants. It has been a long, often painful recovery, using handwritten notes and my own memory to try to bring this story and its full cast of colorful characters back from the ashes. I know that it's not the same as before, but I also believe it's better in many ways. So, thank you for celebrating this rebirth with me; it has only just begun!
