Young widow, Jane, doesn’t want to fall in love again. She was hurt too badly when her husband Tom unexpectedly died in a motorcycle accident. Forced to return home to live with her mother, she is struggling to make ends meet at her café in the small town of Millvale. One day, the property where the café is located is purchased by a land developer. When his son, Anders, comes to inspect the property, he falls for not only Jane’s marvelous cooking, but also for her sensational daughter Ellie, a bright girl with special needs. Together, he and Jane might just build something new and extraordinary in Millvale, but will they ever see eye to eye? Will Jane ever admit she might have feelings for someone new? And when will Anders see that sometimes trying to be someone perfect isn’t always the answer to building a successful life?

Inn Love by Whitney Sweet was an adorable small-town romance and the perfect book for fall. I enjoyed snuggling up with this book and a cup of tea. The romance between Jane and Anders was so tender and realistic that I couldn’t help but get swept up in their story. Jane’s character really resonated with me and I could feel her sadness as she mourned the loss of her husband. This made it all the more joyful for me as she finally got her own chance for a happily ever after. I also really enjoyed the baking aspect of this book. Jane’s restaurant sounds delicious and I was rooting for her through the entire book.

Another stand out character is Jane’s daughter, Ellie. One of the things I like most about Ellie is that she is a character in and of her own right. While she has special needs, she is not defined by her disability. She loves to make cookies and reading about all her fabulous creations made me wish their restaurant was real! This book was such a sweet romance that although the author gave me a free copy in exchange for an honest review, I purchased a copy for my kindle so that I could read it over again. I’m very much looking forward to the sequel.
